FAQs

1.
Why would job seekers use ChiefMonster?
ChiefMonster is backed by the number one Internet career site, Monster. Already well known for quality job postings, innovative and impressive clients, and unique and valuable content, job seekers know to expect the best from any Monster product. And to top it all off, our qualification process, (required for membership into ChiefMonster), takes only 5 to 10 minutes -- a fraction of the time required by other Web sites catering to this level.
2.
Who are ChiefMonster's competitors?
Two competitors in this space are FutureStep (from Korn Ferry) and LeadersOnline (from Heidrick and Struggles). Both of these companies are Executive Search firms who have tried to move their core business online. Other competition includes PeopleScape (a spin-off of Christian-Timbers), 6figurejobs.com and BigWig.net.
3.
Why should my company use ChiefMonster instead of one of the competitors? My company has had success with ChiefMonster's competition, why should we switch?
ChiefMonster is not trying to fill a pipeline of job seekers and jobs for a third party search firm. Unlike many of our competitors (which are sites established and run by Executive Search firms), ChiefMonster has no affiliation with one particular firm. We are in the business of empowering employees and cutting the time and cost for employers.
Secondly, ChiefMonster has the backing of the branding and marketing campaigns of Monster. Brandweek (June 19, 2000) named Monster one of America's Top 2000 Brands. Ranked as the 440th "Superbrand", Monster was the only careers Web site to be recognized by Brandweek, along with companies including Burger King and Visa, and online companies like E*Trade and Amazon.com.
Thirdly, ChiefMonster will contain all the same innovative technology that you find on Monster as well as new features that will be rolled out continually.
Lastly, ChiefMonster is the largest source for pre-qualified senior level talent across multiple disciplines.
4.
What are the major advantages of using ChiefMonster over traditional (offline) executive search firms?
Most importantly, ChiefMonster is much less expensive than Executive Search firms. Also, ChiefMonster puts the power of the search back into the hands of the job seekers and the employers. There are no exclusivity deals, no retainer, and no contingency fees. The time factor is also cut because there is no more waiting for the search firm to finish one assignment before they can start yours. And no waiting around for them to conduct the first round of interviews, only to find that they have no one who fits and have to start over. Also important to note is that your company can search for exactly what you need; there is no need to pick from job seekers that the Executive Search firm thinks you are looking for.
5.
How does my company know the job seekers in ChiefMonster are of executive quality?
ChiefMonster has established a stringent qualification survey to filter the majority of people who are not executive material. If a job seeker who does not qualify tries to re-enter with the same email address within a time period defined by ChiefMonster, that job seeker will not be allowed to take the survey again. ChiefMonster will follow the honor system established by Monster for all of its job seekers.
6.
Is there a confidentiality feature?
Yes, for both job seekers and employers. Because we understand the confidential nature of opportunity searches at the executive level, our job seekers are allowed to hide their name, contact information and former (as well as current) employers. Companies will only be able to contact these job seekers via a ChiefMonster email address. Similarly, employers will also be able to hide their company name and contact information so that job seekers and competitors will not be able to determine if your company is hiring.
7.
What are the different features my company will have access to?

To start, ChiefMonster will offer companies the ability to post their opportunities online. Unlike Monster, the opportunity profiles that companies build will be much more robust and will include salary range, equity offered, company mission statement, company values and company overview.

There are also banner and sponsorship opportunities for sale. For more information, please contact your Monster Account Executive.

8.
How is Monster going to promote ChiefMonster?
Monster will be using both traditional and non-traditional channels to market ChiefMonster. Marketing will include advertisements in the Wall Street Journal, as well as rotations in other publications in which Monster will be advertising. The ad campaign will have a look and feel that will be easily identifiable as a Monster product. We will also be conducting an analyst tour, desk-side briefings, and other PR events.
9.
How much does it cost to join ChiefMonster?
ChiefMonster offers resume access, job postings, and membership packages that mirror Monster. For specific pricing information, please contact your Monster Account Executive.
10.
Who has access to ChiefMonster?
From the job seeker side, only job seekers that pass the qualification survey will have access to the features offered by ChiefMonster. Access for employers will include hiring companies, venture capital firms and executive search firms.
11.
Is ChiefMonster easy to use? Will it take a lot of time?
ChiefMonster is very easy to use. The majority of the site is set up within a similar framework to Monster. New features have extensive help sections to walk the user through the entire process. Setting up initial jobs may take a few minutes longer than a more standard job description, but subsequent jobs will take only as long as it takes to cut and paste the text from stored documents.
12.
Does ChiefMonster have alliances with sites that target executives?
Yes. We are currently confirming and pursuing alliances with executive experts in topic areas including salary, relocation, and company research as well as with Web sites targeted towards the New Economy leader.
13.
How is ChiefMonster going to foster the personal relationships that can be so important in filling open executive positions?
Currently, we have partnerships with Salary.com, Kennedy Information, Meansbusiness.com, and MonsterMoving. ChiefMonster is hosting message boards and chats where executives can connect with their peers and industry experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with being an executive in today's New Economy. Our goal is to be the number one career stop for executives. We want to help them with every step of their career -- from job searching, to getting hired, to sharing ideas and knowledge. We will assist them with making that next step, whatever it may be.
14.
How can ChiefMonster cut my company's time to fill for executive positions?
Internet recruiting has proven to cut a company's time to hire by up to two-thirds. Postings are placed on the actively searched database within hours of being submitted. Resumes also are available for searching so that your company can get started on filling an open position immediately.
15.
Will my company be inundated with resumes?
Because of the exclusive nature of ChiefMonster, your company will not be inundated with resumes. Even though your job postings will be seen on Monster as well as ChiefMonster, only members who have passed the qualification process will be able to apply online to your company's positions. The resumes you receive will be fewer in number but much more qualified.
16.
How can ChiefMonster help me achieve some of my recruitment goals?
ChiefMonster will help you cut your time to fill and reduce your executive search costs. ChiefMonster will also give you the tools you need and the access you want to reach quality, pre-qualified job seeker.
