Getting Started

The Getting Started screen is the first Opportunity Builder screen and introduces you to the ChiefMonster job posting process. Note the following as you create your posting:
Items preceded by an asterisk are required and must be completed before moving to the next opportunity builder screen.
After completing a screen, click Next to store your information and move on to the next screen.
To view a sample job posting, click View Sample Opportunity Profile on the Getting Started screen.
To view your job posting as you build it, click View current opportunity at the screen bottom.
Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
Proceed to the next screen by clicking Next.

Opportunity Title/Basic Info

Refer to the following table to complete the Opportunity Title/Basic Info screen. When you are done, click Next.

Description


Company Name

Select the company or division name for whom you are posting from the drop-down list.

Note: The list of companies is built on the Manage Companies screen.


Job Location

Select the location closest to your job's location from the drop-down list. To select multiple locations, hold down the <Ctrl> key on the PC or the <Command> key on the Mac. If you select more than one location, there may be an additional cost or it may take additional jobs from your ChiefMonster package.

Select the location (or closest major city) in which your job is located. If your job is not located in the city selected, please type the appropriate city/town name in the "City/Town" box.

To change continents, click the continent name under the City/Town field. The Select Locations box is then filled with locations within that continent. You cannot search for locations on different continents at the same time.

Note:If you DO NOT want the city displayed online, please type Statewide in the "City/Town" box.

 


Job Category

Select the appropriate category for your job posting from the drop-down list. If none of the categories apply, select Other. To select multiple categories, hold down the <Ctrl> key on the PC or the <Command> key on the Mac. If you select more than one category, there may be an additional cost or it may take additional jobs from your ChiefMonster package.

 


Select Source

Select the source of this job from the drop-down list.

 


Job Title

Enter the job title.

 


Job Description

Enter the job description. You can either type the description directly into the space provided or "paste" text that you have already prepared off-line into this field.

You do not need to include the job title in the job description, because you have already entered the title in the Job title field.

Submitting a complete, detailed description is very important. It makes your job more attractive to a job seeker who is searching many ads. Also, by providing enough text and relevant keywords to describe the position, you increase the chances of your post being accessed by job seekers.


Job Type

Select the appropriate job types for this Opportunity.

 


Competency Selection

You must specify the experience level -- from one, the lowest, to four, the highest -- you are looking for in at least five of the competencies listed in this screen. Note the following as you specify the competencies your position requires:
 

To get more information on a competency, click its name. 

A pop-up window appears, defining that competency and each of the four experience levels for that competency.

To specify the experience level for a competency, do one of the following:
- Select the appropriate level from the drop-down list next to the competency name. Select - if the competency is not applicable to your job posting.
- Click the competency name to display its pop-up window, select the appropriate level and then click close window. Select NA, if the competency is not applicable to your job posting.
When you are done, click Next.

Compensation Selection

To specify the total compensation to be paid for this position, complete the Compensation Selection screen, as follows:

Select the appropriate cash compensation range and currency from the Total Cash Compensation drop-down lists.

Select the type or types of equity that this position offers in the Equity field.

When you are done, click Next.
 

Enter Contact Information

Refer to the following list as you complete the Enter Contact Information screen. When you are done click Save and Continue.
The following contact information fields are required and the information is inserted from your user profile.
- Contact Name
- Company Name
- Email Address
- Street
- City/Town
- State/Province
- Zip Code/Postal Code
- Phone Number
- Fax Number
To change any of the information, enter text directly over the information you wish to change.
You may enter an optional unique reference code for this position in the Reference Code field.
To keep your contact information confidential, deselect the Show this contact information when the job is viewed online check box at the screen bottom.

Company Information

Refer to the following table to complete the Company Information screen. Information you entered on the Manage Companies screen, if applicable, appears by default. When you are done click Next.

Enter the mission of your organization.

 


Values/Philosophy

Enter a description of the values and philosophy that make up your organization's culture.

 


Company Overview

Enter a brief corporate overview.

 


Number of employees

Enter the number of employees in your organization.

 


Company Status

Indicate whether your company is a public or private organization, by selecting the appropriate option.

 


Finishing Up

Complete the first Finishing Up screen, as follows:
To view your posting, click View current opportunity.
To post this position on ChiefMonster, click Submit Opportunity.
Once you have submitted your posting, the second Finishing Up screen appears notifying you that your submission was successful.
