Creating and editing resumes Top

On any My ChiefMonster page, select My Profile/Resumes from the My ChiefMonster Menu drop-down menu. The Resume Listings & Activity page appears.
If you want to edit a resume, click Edit under the resume you want to edit.
The Mission screen for that resume appears and you can begin editing.
If you want to create a new resume, click Create a New Resume.
The Getting Started Page appears.

Getting Started Page Guidelines Top

The Getting Started Page is the first Profile Builder screen and introduces you to the resume building process. Note the following as you build your resume:
You can create up to five resumes for storing on ChiefMonster.
Items preceded by an asterisk are required and must be completed before moving to the next profile builder screen.
Once you have completed a screen, you can go back to it by clicking the screen name under the My Profile navigation list.
You are not required to complete your profile in one sitting. At any point, you can click Save and Exit. However, all sections must be completed before you can use this resume to apply to jobs online. When you log back in to the system, simply return to where you left off in Profile Builder and continue the process.
At any point, you can view the resume you are creating, by clicking Preview Profile at the bottom of the screen.

Mission Top

Refer to the following table to complete the Mission screen. When you are done, click Continue.

Profile Title Enter a title for the resume you are creating. This field is required.

Job Title Select your title from the drop-down list. This field is required.

Additional Info Enter information that provides a more detailed description of the functions associated with your title.

Personal Mission Enter information that builds on your Sound Bite to give employers a comprehensive view of your goals and principles.

Candidate Information Top

Refer to the following table to complete the Candidate Information screen. When you are done click Continue.

Please note that the information on this page, including career level, will carry over to every page within the Resume Builder, including your account profile and all 5 of your resumes.

Note: In order to activate your resume, you MUST fill out: First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code, Primary Phone Number, and Career Level. 


Candidate Info
  • First Name-Enter your first name. This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • Last Name-Enter your last name. This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • Home Address(1 or 2)-Enter your street address(es). This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • City/Town-Enter your city/town. This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • State-Choose your state. This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • Postal/Zip Code-Enter your postal or zip code. This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • Primary Number-Enter your primary phone number, including your area code. This field is required in order to activate your resume.
  • Secondary Number-Enter your secondary phone number, including your area code.
  • Mobile and Fax Numbers-Enter your mobile and fax numbers including your area code.
  • Pager Numbers-Enter your pager number including your area code.
  • Your URL-Enter your URL if you would like employers to be able to visit your site.

    Career Level Choose the level that most clearly reflects where you are in your career. As you move up in your career, you can change this information as needed. This field is required in order to activate your resume. Please note that your career level will carry over throughout your account.

     
    Starting Date

    Filling out the following section is valuable to employers who may need to fill a job within a certain time period. However, please choose only one of the next two fields. If you specify a time frame, you cannot specify a date.

    Use the drop-down menu to choose the length of time in which you will be able to start a new job, or the length of notice of resignation you must give to a current employer. Your choices are listed below.


     
    Hide Contact Information

    To keep your contact information hidden when employers perform resume searches, check the Save my resume as confidential box. If you check this box and activate any resume, your resume will be searchable, but will not display your contact information and references to employers who find your resume on ChiefMonster. To also block your current company's name, choose an end date of "present" for your current Work Experience. If interested in your resume, the employer will respond to ChiefMonster and ChiefMonster will automatically route their email to you. The email will be sent to the address you supplied in your account profile.

    When you apply for a job using Apply Online, your contact information will be sent so that employers can reach you if they are interested. You will be reminded when you submit your resume.


    When you have added all your educational experience, click Continue.

    Mission Top

    Refer to the following table to complete the Mission screen. When you are done, click Continue.

    Profile Title Enter a title for the resume you are creating. This field is required.

    Job Title Select your title from the drop-down list. This field is required.

    Additional Info Enter information that provides a more detailed description of the functions associated with your title.

    Personal Mission Enter information that builds on your Sound Bite to give employers a comprehensive view of your goals and principles.

    Target Location Top

    Refer to the following table to complete the Target Location screen. When you are done click Continue.

    I am willing to Relocate Select No or Yes to indicate your willingness to relocate. This field is required.

    STEP 1

    If you are willing to Relocate, select the locations where you would be willing to move to from the STEP 1 drop-down list. To select multiple locations, hold down the <Ctrl> key on the PC or the <Command> key on the Mac.

    If you wish to add locations from another continent, click the continent name from the Show locations for this regiion list. The screen refreshes and the list of locations for this continent appears.


    STEP 2 With your selections in the STEP 1 drop-down list highlighted, click the down arrow to move those locations to the STEP 3 Target Location field.

    STEP 3 To remove locations from the Target Location field, first select the location and then click the STEP 2 up arrow.

    Bio Top

    Enter a short autobiography that gives employers a picture of your overall life experience. You will provide a more detailed description of your professional life in the Work History screen of the profile builder.
    When you are done, click Continue.

    Competencies Top

    Provide a self-evaluation for each of the ten competencies listed on this screen, by choosing which of the four level descriptions best reflects your abilities. If the competency is not applicable to your experience, choose NA.
    When you are done, click Continue.

    Experience Top

    Refer to the following table to complete the Experience screen. When you are done click Continue.

    Profit & Loss Experience Check this box if you have Profit and Loss experience.

    Largest Budget Managed Select the proper range from the drop-down list to indicate the largest budget you ever managed. This field is required.

    Number of People Managed Select the proper range from the drop-down list to indicate the largest number of people you ever managed.

    Turn-Around Experience Check this box if you have turn-around experience.
    If you check this box, enter a brief description of your achievements related to this experience at Accomplishments.

    IPO Experience Check this box if you have IPO experience.
    If you check this box, enter a brief description of your achievements related to this experience at Accomplishments.

    Start-up Experience Check this box if you have start-up experience.
    If you check this box, enter a brief description of your achievements related to this experience at Accomplishments.

    Mergers & Acquisitions Check this box if you have mergers and acquisitions experience.
    If you check this box, enter a brief description of your achievements related to this experience at Accomplishments.

    Entrepreneurial Experience Check this box if you have entrepreneurial experience.
    If you check this box, enter a brief description of your achievements related to this experience at Accomplishments.

    Work History Top

    To complete the Work History screen, enter the information below for past and present employers. When you have entered all information for an employer, click Save & Add Another. The employer will be added to the employer list.

    Company Name Enter the name of the company where you were employed. This field is required.

    Title Enter your title while you were there. This field is required.

    Start Date Indicate the date you started working at the company, by selecting the appropriate month and year from the drop-down lists.

    End Date Indicate the date you stopped working at the company, by selecting the appropriate month and year from the drop-down lists.
    NOTE: Select Present from the drop-down list to keep your current employer confidential.

    Accomplishments Enter a description of your accomplishments while you were employed at this company.

    When you have added all employers, click Continue.

    Education Top

    To complete the Education screen, enter the information below for every educational program that you have attended. When you have entered all information for an educational program, click Save & Add Education.

    School or Program Name Enter the name of the school or program. This is a required field.

    City/Town Enter the name of the city or town where the school or program is located. This is a required field.

    State Enter the name of the state where the school or program is located. This is a required field.

    Country Enter the name of the country where the school or program is located. This is a required field.

    Degree/Level Attained Select the appropriate level from the drop-down list. This is a required field.

    Completion Date Indicate the date you completed the school or program, by selecting the appropriate month and year from the drop-down lists.

    Description Enter information that might be relevant to your resume, such as awards or honors you received from this school or program.

    When you have added all your educational experience, click Continue.

    Affiliations/Memberships Top

    To complete the Affiliations/Memberships screen, enter the information below for the professional organizations with which you have been associated. When you have specified all information for an organization, click Save & Add Another .

    Organization Name Enter the name of the organization.

    Affiliation/Role Enter your role or affiliation with the organization.

    Start Date Indicate the date you became affiliated with or a member of the organization by selecting the appropriate month and year from the drop-down lists.

    End Date Indicate the date you completed your affiliation with or membership of the organization, by selecting the appropriate month and year from the drop-down lists. Select Present if you are still affiliated with or are still a member of the organization.

    Speaking Engagements Enter a brief description of any speaking engagements with which you were associated for this organization.

    Publications, Articles, Awards & Honors, URLs Enter any of your publications, articles, awards, or honors associated with this organization. If the organization has a web site, enter its URL.

    When you have added all your Affiliations/Memberships experience, click Continue.

    Work Status Top

    To complete the Work Status screen, select one of the following for every country you chose as a desired work location:
    I am authorized to work in this country for any employer.
    I am authorized to work in this country for my present employer only.
    I required sponsorship to work in this country.

    These are required fields. When you are done, click Continue.

    Finishing Up Top

    When you reach the Finishing Up screen, you have completed your profile.
    If you want to make changes to your resume, clickEdit Profile.
    Click Save and Exit to return to the Resume Listings & Activity screen.

    Click Activate Profile to make this your active resume. This is the resume that employers can search for.

    Duplicating Profiles Top

    To duplicate a resume:
    1.
    On any My ChiefMonster page, select My Profile/Resumes from the My ChiefMonster Menu drop-down menu.
    The Resume Listing and Activity screen appears.
    2.
    Click Duplicate under the resume you want to copy.

    Deleting Resumes Top

    To delete a resume:
    1.
    On any My ChiefMonster page, select My Profile/Resumes from the My ChiefMonster Menu drop-down menu.
    The Resume Listing and Activity screen appears.

    NOTE: You cannot retrieve the deleted resumes.

    2.
    Click Delete under the resume you want to delete.

    Sending Resumes Top

    To send a resume:
    1.
    On any My ChiefMonster page, select My Profile/Resumes from the My ChiefMonster Menu drop-down menu.
    The Resume Listing and Activity screen appears.
    2.
    Click Email under the resume you want to email.
    3.
    In the pop-up window, enter the email address of the person to whom you are sending your resume and a message subject.
    4.
    Click Send to email the resume.
